I’m a film director and writer who dislikes talking about myself.
I started out as a mediocre actor, which turned out to be surprisingly useful. It taught me firsthand how insecure and vulnerable acting can feel, and probably explains why I have a particular soft spot for actors and try to take very good care of them on set.
I eventually moved behind the camera, first making documentaries and then forming Vira-Lata, a directing duo with Giordano Maestrelli. We spent years making music films and commercials together and, somewhere along the way, I learned how to direct.
Since then, I’ve directed films and commercials across Brazil, Latin America and the US. My work is usually driven by character, performance and a certain affection for ordinary people in slightly unusual situations. Visually, I look for something warm, human and cinematic, contemporary but grounded in a classical approach to filmmaking.
My first fiction short, Vidros Fechados (Closed Windows), premiered in 2026 and won Direction / Short Film at CICLOPE Latino.
My work has also been recognized by Cannes Lions, D&AD, Clio, UKMVA, CICLOPE and other international festivals and awards.
I’m currently developing my first feature film, a Brazilian comedy-drama.
